Big Oil is Facing the Music: Heated x Make Polluters Pay

We are excited to announce that Make Polluters Pay has partnered with author and narrative strategist Sanjana Sekhar, artist and songwriter Anusha Savi, and storytelling studio GARMI to amplify their song “HEATED (GARMI),” a pop and R&B breakup anthem to take back our power from the Oil-igarchy.

Big Oil is facing the music on Earth Day and beyond. It’s time to pay up for the damage they have done. Vermont and New York have already passed Climate Superfund Bills, and now more than ten other states are fighting to make polluters pay. People are sick of footing the bill for fires, floods, and hurricanes just so mega-polluters can buy another yacht.

Big Oil and their ultra-wealthy buddies want to continue to shirk responsibility and make us clean up their mess. But we won’t let that happen.

In Anusha and Sanjana's words

“The only thing hotter than the glow-up after a toxic relationship? When the personal win is a planetary win.

It’s time to break up with Big Oil so we can step into a future that’s bold, powerful, and ours to claim.”

Lyrics: Pre Chorus and Chorus

The planet is getting hotter, but so are we.

You like to say there’s no other option / Pointin’ your finger at me but all I hear is talking

  • 2

How could you blame me when you chose violence? / If I see smoke, I won’t stay silent

  • 3

You got me – Heated, Heated, Heated
